First Software-Based, Telepresence-Quality Desktop Solution to Achieve JITC Approval

Hackensack, NJ – May 7, 2012 – Vidyo, Inc., the first company to deliver personal telepresence, today announced that products from its Vidyo™ Conferencing suite have met the DoD Joint Interoperability Test Command’s (JITC) requirements, including related Defense Switch Network (DSN) and IPV6 interoperability requirements, to now appear on the DoD Unified Capabilities Approved Products List (UC APL). Vidyo is the first software-based, telepresence-quality (720p30) desktop video conferencing solution to be JITC certified.

As an approved provider of products to the Department of Defense, Vidyo offers government customers a highly differentiated, superb-quality video conferencing solution based on an entirely unique communication and collaboration platform. This software-based, extremely flexible and easily customizable solution is designed around the company’s patented VidyoRouter™ architecture. Using Adaptive Video Layering™ and the H.264 SVC video compression standard to dynamically optimize the video for each endpoint, the VidyoRouter is the first video multipoint solution to deliver rate matching and continuous presence capabilities without requiring expensive conference bridges.

Vidyo’s groundbreaking technology delivers high quality conferencing in many form factors giving customers the choice of how to use the technology. Since Vidyo utilizes non-QoS enhanced networks, access to telepresence-quality conferences is possible to anyone with terrestrial, wireless, broadband, or Satcom network connectivity. Vidyo acknowledges the current investments of traditional VTC and Telepresence systems, and invested heavily to ensure compatibility with H.323/SIP based end points and infrastructure.

“Vidyo’s award-winning solution is perfectly suited to the needs of government customers, with special consideration for agencies that require high information assurance and interoperability, but need to be budget-conscious at the same time,” said Ofer Shapiro, Vidyo’s co-founder and CEO. “Vidyo’s products are currently used by the Federal government, and this JITC Certification enables us to further extend our reach to other departments and agencies looking to expand their collaboration beyond the conference room to the desktop, mobile, and tactical. Vidyo provides a higher level of quality on everyday devices with massive scalability at a fraction of the cost of competitive solutions.”

Joel Brunson, President, Blackbox, Video Division said, “Vidyo has a very unique, high-quality solution that allows Federal agencies to provide high definition video conferencing to the desktop and mobile worker at unprecedented scale, interoperability with existing investments, all at a very attractive price. Achieving JITC certification, and everything that comes with it, should bolster Vidyo’s efforts in penetrating the Federal video space, allowing them to take market share from incumbent providers.”

Vidyo will be demonstrating several of its JITC-certified products this week at the AFCEA Technology Showcase (part of the DISA Mission Partner Conference), May 7-10, 2012 at the Tampa Convention Center in Florida.

The Vidyo Difference

The Vidyo communication and collaboration platform is software-based, highly flexible and can be easily customized for individual enterprise and vertical market video conferencing needs. Vidyo’s Adaptive Video Layering eliminates the MCU and offers unprecedented error resiliency, low latency rate matching thus enabling natural, affordable, high-quality video to work over the Internet, LTE and 4G networks. The platform allows users to quickly leverage the latest hardware innovations and new consumer devices, making it uniquely attractive to partners. Vidyo has been active driving H.264 SVC and SIP videoconferencing interoperability in various standards bodies since 2005.

Vidyo APIs Allow Easy Integration of Diagnostic Medical Devices and Imaging Software with Video Conferencing and Collaboration

SAN JOSE, Calif., Apr 26, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) — ATA 2012 Conference — Vidyo, Inc., the first company to deliver personal telepresence, and AMD Global Telemedicine, a leading supplier of medical technology for clinical telemedicine, today announced a partnership that will integrate Vidyo’s award-winning software-based solution with AMD’s telemedicine platform. The combined solution complements the Vidyo for Healthcare(TM) line with AMD Global’s integrating software and medical devices that are essential for effective telemedicine. Healthcare providers will enjoy a new, simple, intuitive, and comprehensive point-of-care solution.

The companies have integrated Vidyo’s software-based video conferencing platform with AMD Global’s telemedicine platform. The comprehensive solution encompasses the market’s preeminent diagnostic medical devices, AGNES(TM) information aggregation system, and tConsult(TM) Encounter Management Software that is equipped with device management, case creation, work flow and archival tools. Vidyo for Healthcare is a rich and versatile video collaboration platform with APIs that allow companies such as AMD Global to provide healthcare professionals with easy access to high-quality, cost-effective video communications on a variety of off-the-shelf devices such as laptops, smartphones, desktops and tablets via the Internet, 3G/4G and other general IP networks. The integrated solution will simplify the work flow for physicians, providing them with a single user interface that integrates visual communication with information from medical devices and medical records. The combined solution will be demonstrated at this week’s ATA 2012 conference from April 29 — May 1 in San Jose, CA (AMD Global Booth #634 and Vidyo Booth #936).

“The clinical telemedicine market has long been in need of a solution that offered both access and mobility for physicians to use from wherever they happen to be, without sacrificing quality,” said Dan McCafferty, Vice President, Global Sales and Corporate Development, AMD Global Telemedicine. “Vidyo’s solution satisfies these criteria and offers an outstanding quality video component that is highly complementary to AMD’s Agnes(TM) software, which is quickly becoming an industry standard. We believe that this is a great marriage of innovation between our two companies.”

“There is an increasing demand for workflow integration that allows healthcare practitioners to have all of the tools they need — including a live, natural view of the patient – at their immediate disposal,” said Dr. Amnon Gavish, Vidyo’s Senior VP, Vertical Solutions. “The point-of-care solution that will result from the Vidyo-AMD Global partnership will not only improve the productivity of healthcare professionals but will also enable quicker and more informed diagnoses and decisions and allow visual communications — along with input from AMD Global’s medical devices, measurement of vital signs and access to medical records tools – to be part of examinations, making the experience much closer to an ‘in-person’ appointment.”

System Optimization Will Enhance Care and Streamline Workflow

Andover, Mass., and Hackensack, N.J. – Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI) and Vidyo are collaborating to offer health system providers an approach for extending telehealth solutions across the enterprise to improve patient care and clinician workflow while also reducing costs. Enterprise-wide deployment of these next-generation telehealth services will require scalable and flexible advanced video technology to adapt to the full range of clinical workstations and mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops.

Philips enterprise telehealth solutions will incorporate remote physiologic monitoring, advanced clinical decision support, and Vidyo’s Adaptive Video Layering

Technology™, into a powerful clinical platform for communications and collaboration. This interoperable platform, based on the proven eICU® program, will aggregate clinical informatics solutions designed to improve the quality of patient care, and key performance indicators such as patient mortality, length of stay, hospital-acquired infections, and hospital readmissions across health system enterprises.

“We are excited to collaborate with Vidyo to leverage its cutting-edge telepresence technologies to enhance the flexibility and scalability of our telehealth solutions,” said Mike Mancuso, senior vice president & general manager, Enterprise Patient Informatics Solutions and Patient Monitoring Systems, for Philips Healthcare. “Philips is committed to working with industry leaders to better address healthcare needs by expanding telehealth services beyond the ICU, as well as externally to remote clinics, physician offices, and into the home.”

Vidyo’s unique Adaptive Video Layering Technology dynamically optimizes the video for each endpoint. By continuously monitoring the performance of the underlying network and capabilities of endpoint devices, video streams are adapted in real-time to optimize communications. The Vidyo Application Programming Interface (API) supports greater customization and integration of telehealth solutions into clinical work flows. Additionally, solutions can be deployed on both private and public networks, using standard off-the-shelf hardware — allowing for simple, cost-effective implementation and maintenance.

“The collaboration between Philips and Vidyo is not only a boon to our respective companies, but to the telehealth industry, in general,” said Dr. Amnon Gavish, Vidyo’s Senior VP of Vertical Solutions. “Telehealth has now come of age, driven by global demand and, in the U.S., empowered by new laws and legislation like the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). There is an ever-increasing need for easier access to affordable, high-quality telehealth which the Philips-Vidyo platform will uniquely satisfy. Healthcare providers and patients alike will benefit from this solution’s extremely natural interaction experience, enabled by the very low latency of Vidyo’s technology. This high-quality experience enhances the remote physician – patient interaction, promoting a higher level of patient trust.”

Hackensack, NJ – April 24, 2012 – Vidyo, Inc., the world’s fastest-growing video conferencing company today announced that it completed another record year, increasing billings for Vidyo branded products by 82% in FY 2011. These results reflect the company’s continued success in North America and APAC theaters which increased billings by 115% each in FY 2011. Vidyo also experienced tremendous global adoption of its revolutionary software-based video conferencing platform marking a monumental marketplace shift away from legacy, hardware-based solutions. The company closed FY 2011 with 57% of its billings from outside North America and with more than 1850 customers who purchased Vidyo systems through Vidyo’s rapidly growing partner eco-system of 300 distributors and resellers and 25 service provider partners.

Vidyo’s groundbreaking platform has won numerous industry awards and is consistently lauded by industry analysts and experts as being the most disruptive force to come along in the videoconferencing market in decades. Vidyo’s innovative architecture provides a completely unique paradigm for video communications and collaboration and opens new markets and usage opportunities for customers. “In a marketplace defined by technological advancements, Vidyo has been at the forefront of innovation, launching products that have positioned the company for growth,” said Roopam Jain, Principal Analyst, Frost & Sullivan, Information and Communication Technologies. “In terms of innovation, technical excellence, scalability and adaptability to varied videoconferencing environments, the VidyoConferencing suite of solutions is impressive and market disruptive. Vidyo’s technology allows new entrants a low barrier of entry to create new, differentiated and cost-effective applications at a desired price performance.”

“The video conferencing and collaboration industry is at a tipping point. According to Infonetics Research, sales of videoconferencing and telepresence equipment are expected to reach a cumulative $22 billion in the next 5 years,” said Ofer Shapiro, CEO and co-founder of Vidyo. “Our game changing platform allows us to benefit from this massive growth. In FY 2011, about half of our billing was from customers that have an average potential of 10X the initial deal size, suggesting that even with the impressive 82% growth in 2011, we are just seeing the tip of the iceberg.”

Customer Growth

By bringing price and performance for end-to-end personal telepresence in-line with user expectation, Vidyo is enabling large scale deployments of telepresence. In 2011, Vidyo also experienced a marked increase in marquee customers in the healthcare, education and government vertical markets.

“Vidyo’s groundbreaking technology and video conferencing system transforms mediated classrooms on campus into real time research and learning environments,” says Robert E. Page, Jr., Dean of the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University. “Students can participate in high quality video interactions with researchers from remote areas, collect and share data via the Internet, all at the same time, on their laptop, desktop PCs or Mac. No other video communications solution offers the kind of access, ease-of-use and quality that we’re getting with Vidyo.”

The Vidyo Difference

The Vidyo communication and collaboration platform is software-based, highly flexible and can be easily customized for individual enterprise and vertical market video conferencing needs. The patented VidyoRouter™ architecture introduces Adaptive Video Layering™, which dynamically optimizes the video for each endpoint leveraging H.264 Scalable Video Coding (SVC)-based compression technology and Vidyo’s IP. Adaptive Video Layering eliminates the MCU and offers unprecedented error resiliency, low latency rate matching thus enabling natural, affordable, high-quality video to work over the Internet, LTE and 4G networks. The platform allows users to quickly leverage the latest hardware innovations and new consumer devices, making it uniquely attractive to partners. Vidyo has been active driving H.264 SVC and SIP videoconferencing interoperability in various standards bodies since 2005.
