Compact, Cost-Effective Mobile Point-of-Care Product to be Demonstrated This Week at HIMSS 2012 in Las Vegas

Hackensack, NJ – February 21, 2012 – Vidyo, Inc., the first company to deliver personal telepresence, today announced a newly formed partnership with Rubbermaid Telemedicine. Incorporating Vidyo’s unique telehealth solution into its telemedicine carts, Rubbermaid Telemedicine will provide its customers with the ability to further enhance the ease-of-use and quality of highly personal, face-to-face interactions between healthcare providers and patients. Rubbermaid will be displaying the Vidyo integration at this week’s HIMSS 2012 conference from February 21 – 23, 2012 in Las Vegas: Rubbermaid Medical Solutions Booth (#5150).

In 2003, Rubbermaid Medical Solutions began its production of medication style carts. Since that time, Rubbermaid Medical Solutions has become the premier provider of medication and record-keeping carts and wall-mounted workstations for healthcare facilities.

“The combination of compact and lightweight design, with a very strong ergonomic focus, makes our telemedicine cart ideal for point-of-care applications,” said David Pirkle, General Manager, Rubbermaid Medical Solutions. “The adoption of Vidyo in our telemedicine solution advances our ability to offer customers an extremely portable, high-quality and cost-effective video communications and collaboration tool that will easily work in tandem with the other applications on our carts. The fact that video consultations can be accessed via iPads and other mobile devices is a huge benefit to physicians, medical facilities, and their patients.”

Rubbermaid Medical Solutions recently announced the Rubbermaid Telemedicine Cart. This mobile point-of-care platform combines web, video conferencing and interactive whiteboard technology all in one. Because it is mobile, the Rubbermaid Telemedicine Cart can be used in every area of a hospital or clinic and enables real-time collaboration and patient/caregiver communication.

“Since Vidyo can be accessed over the Internet, 4G and LTE networks, it enables more practitioners, no matter where they’re located, to be available for remote consultations; this is a huge benefit to patients and a boon to the healthcare industry,” said Dr. Amnon Gavish, Vidyo’s Senior VP, Vertical Solutions. “This is just the beginning of an exciting partnership with Rubbermaid. Customers can look forward to future innovative and economical Vidyo-Rubbermaid Telemedicine integrated products that will expand the reach of high-quality, easy-to-access video communications.”

The Vidyo Difference

The Vidyo communication and collaboration platform is software-based, highly flexible and can be easily customized for individual enterprise and vertical market video conferencing needs.
Medical Consultations Using Vidyo-Enabled REACH System to be Demonstrated at HIMSS 2012

Hackensack, NJ – February 21, 2012 – Vidyo, Inc., the first company to deliver personal telepresence, today announced its collaboration with REACH Health, a technology company specializing in developing and providing interactive physician-to-patient access. REACH Health has integrated Vidyo technology into its proprietary software platform that offers multidiscipline acute care telemedicine capabilities such as workflow, enhanced diagnostic assistance and automated documentation capabilities, in addition to video. Vidyo offers the industry’s richest and most versatile video collaboration platform with APIs that allow companies such as REACH to provide high-quality video communications to medical practitioners. The Vidyo-enabled REACH Health solution will be demonstrated at this week’s HIMSS 2012 conference from February 20 – 24, 2012 in Las Vegas, in Metro-Emerson’s Booth # 1329.

“We needed to enable multi-party synchronized audio/video within our platform and Vidyo was able to meet critical requirements – exceptional quality of video, reliability of connection, cost and ability to integrate via APIs with the other applications in our platform,” said Cory Hall, Executive VP of Medical Informatics at REACH Health. “Our platform is unique in that it was developed by physicians and we are committed to leveraging new and evolving technologies, such as Vidyo’s, to provide the best access to medical care.”

“Telehealth is a critically important, rapidly growing field for which Vidyo’s capabilities are uniquely suited, “said Dr. Amnon Gavish, Vidyo’s Senior VP, Vertical Solutions. ”No other video communication solution is able to offer the level of quality and ease-of-integration that Vidyo can provide with its APIs. Since REACH Health services many environments that have limited network bandwidth and communications capabilities, they needed to integrate a video communication solution that would connect with smaller, rural facilities with limited connection capabilities. Only Vidyo was able to meet this requirement.”

The Vidyo Difference

REACH’s multidiscipline solutions benefit numerous clinical environments including emergency rooms, ICUs and patient rooms for pulmonology, cardiology, neurology, psychiatry and stroke applications.

REACH technology is expanding patient care options by extending hospitals’ REACH to specialist expertise while simultaneously enabling a better way to manage limited specialty resources intelligently and efficiently.

About Vidyo for Healthcare

Vidyo, Alcatel-Lucent and ng Connect members featured in Connected Service Vehicle, Striker and TeleConsult service concepts, demonstrating power of videoconferencing

LAS VEGAS (CES 2012) — January 10, 2012 – Vidyo, Inc., the first company to deliver personal telepresence, is teaming with Alcatel-Lucent and other ng Connect member companies to give 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) attendees a glimpse into videoconferencing- and broadband-enabled service concepts in the transportation, public safety and healthcare industries.

At the Alcatel-Lucent Booth #31412 South Upper Hall at CES, the following service concepts incorporating Vidyo® technology will be demonstrated:

Connected Service Vehicle. Taking place inside a fully customized vehicle, broadband technologies, mobile devices, applications and Vidyo HD videoconferencing technology come together to create this concept. The Connected Service Vehicle showcases how the cloud can streamline and reduce costs associated with remote mobile services. Capabilities include collection of traffic information, video logging and download, location-based services, Wi-Fi hotspot links and real-time, low-latency videoconferencing for applications such as enhancing the efficiency of fleet vehicles; increasing the speed, accuracy and security of first-responder services; reducing costs and time for service-provider installations and maintenance; and enriching the experience of community events and activities with broadband connectivity, videoconferencing-based services and advertising opportunities.

Striker. Aimed at the public safety industry, the Striker concept illustrates practical real-life applications and tangible innovations to improve situational awareness of public safety officials to increase the safety of the public. Equipped with devices including radios, notebooks and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), Striker presents a next-generation platform in a mobile environment, with a fully self-contained Band 14 public safety LTE 4G system, built-in Enhanced Packet Core (EPC) and mobile HD videoconferencing capabilities.

TeleConsult. A healthcare service concept, TeleConsult is designed to make it easier for people to manage their health conditions where and when they want, without waiting in a medical specialist’s office, through high-quality videoconferencing. TeleConsult shows how a connected telemedicine platform – with wireless connectivity, cloud services, immersive telepresence with integrated voice and text communications, Bluetooth sensors (to provide accurate, instant readings of biometric information) and a medical gateway – can speed diagnoses, promote successful self-care programs, and save time and resources for both patients and medical professionals.

“Vidyo’s natural, high-quality videoconferencing technology is the ideal solution to improve a wide range of applications,” said Ofer Shapiro, CEO and co-founder of Vidyo. “These demonstrations highlight the ease with which Vidyo technology can integrate with a full range of end points, broadband technologies, and other hardware and software systems, so that live, immersive videoconferencing can become a useful part of everyday life and work.”

“Vidyo is an ideal fit for the ng Connect Program, where we show how high-bandwidth networks can transform specific industries to spur excitement about future possibilities,” said Jason Collins, Vice President of Emerging Technology and Innovation at Alcatel-Lucent. “The integration of live videoconferencing, by leveraging Vidyo’s ability to deliver a high quality, flexible video conferencing solution over a range of devices, helps the service concepts achieve an even greater impact and a more compelling value proposition.”

The Vidyo Difference

LAS VEGAS (CES 2012) — January 10, 2012 – Vidyo, Inc., the first company to deliver personal telepresence, will demonstrate its award-winning multipoint video conferencing software on Amazon’s new Kindle Fire, tonight at CES ShowStoppers in Las Vegas. The company will also showcase the latest platform support for its VidyoMobile™ HD video conferencing software client: Android 4.0 ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’ running on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smart phone. The new Android mobile platform will be part of a live, multi-point, global video conference connecting an extensive variety of endpoints on iOS and Android mobile devices including Kindle Fire, plus desktops, laptops and room systems.

Vidyo’s CES ShowStoppers demos spotlight the flexibility and interoperability of its groundbreaking high definition, software-based video conferencing solution. They will feature the VidyoMobile client running on a variety of the most popular iOS and Android tablets and smart phones, including the Kindle Fire, iPad2, iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy S II, in addition to the debut of Ice Cream Sandwich on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smart phone. All of these devices will be connected live with one another and VidyoRoom and VidyoDesktop systems located across the world, in a multipoint, HD video conference, over wireless and public Internet networks.

“Easy-to-use, universal business-to-business communication is the holy grail of enterprise video conferencing,” said Ofer Shapiro, CEO and co-founder of Vidyo. “Traditionally, the challenge has been interoperability among companies who use different video conferencing vendors and endpoint devices. Vidyo’s software based approach offers a solution to this problem by providing high definition video conferencing over a multitude of off the shelf devices and interoperability with legacy systems. No other vendor can demonstrate what we are showing today.”

The CES 2012 ShowStoppers event will take place from 6 pm to 10 pm on January 10 in the Lafite Ballroom of the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.

VidyoMobile supporting Android versions 2.2 through 4.0 is available for Vidyo users with accounts on either an enterprise VidyoConferencing system or through an authorized Vidyo service provider, in the Android Market Place as a free app.

PARIS – January 4, 2012 – Vidyo, Inc., the first company to deliver personal telepresence, announced that DBee, a leading creative technology agency based in Paris, is using Vidyo communications and collaboration products to produce virtual meetings and large-scale digital events for its enterprise clients throughout Europe. The agency undertakes an average of 150 such events annually. Vidyo replaced the company’s previous solution for multiplex broadcast events, improving the quality with low-latency, HD video and audio, and saving the creative agency time and money.”

“Satellite connections were inconvenient, requiring advance reservations and lots of equipment to capture videos at multiple locations,” said Emmanuel Pain, DBee’s CEO. “Also, satellite transmissions introduce unacceptable delays – a second or two locally, and up to six seconds when crossing oceans. Using Vidyo technology over IP, we can have a Paris-to-New York HD transmission with only about 50 milliseconds of delay, which is imperceptible to viewers. Vidyo is simply the best-in-class in the industry today for HD quality of multiplex video services over IP. It makes it easy for us to build digital events, and for participants to interact more fluidly and naturally no matter what device they use to join the event.”

Vidyo technology provides DBee with advantages that include:

High-quality video with no appreciable delay, even when transmissions extend halfway around the globe. Vidyo delivers its high quality on 720p signals and can transmit video with minimal latency even over lossy networks.

More flexibility and creativity in building event content. For example, DBee can capture presenters on video in front of a green or blue background “screen”, then later crop the characters and place them into a different background setting. With satellite transmissions, blue or green artifacts often remained around the characters. Vidyo’s higher-quality, low-latency video technology enables DBee to place people into any background without artifacts.

Exceptional performance and quality with different form factors. Remote participants in DBee-produced events can join from a variety of devices – including mobile phone, laptop, tablet or video projection system – and enjoy the same high-quality user experience.

Simple installation and implementation. As a result, DBee can be more efficient. The company can use Vidyo to easily build a few-to-few multiplex or conference, then stream it to thousands of people, anywhere in the world.

Measureable cost savings. DBee no longer needs trucks, very high-end and expensive broadcast camera crews in multiple locations or a lot of logistics support for its large-scale digital events. DBee’s CEO Emmanuel Pain estimates that a Vidyo IP multiplex event costs about one-fifth as much as a comparable event on a satellite multiplex.

Expansion of business capabilities and options. DBee has been able to implement more services globally for its corporate clients who need this way of interacting and who appreciate new and better ways to implement virtual meetings.
