Vidyo Platform and Fuze Box Collaborate to Bring High Quality, Multi-Party Mobile and Desktop Video Conferencing

HACKENSACK, NJ AND SAN FRANCISCO, CA, February 4, 2011 –Vidyo® Inc., the first company to deliver personal telepresence, and Fuze Box, a leading platform provider of real time visual collaboration applications, today announced a partnership under which Fuze Box is licensing Vidyo’s next generation multi-party video conferencing technology.

“Vidyo’s innovative and disruptive technology has enabled Fuze Box to add telepresence-quality video conferencing to our award-winning visual collaboration solution,” said Jeff Cavins, CEO of Fuze Box.

“Vidyo was designed to allow partners to quickly and easily build new and innovative solutions to deliver natural video communication on any device and Fuze Box has developed a game-changing, mobile product implementation of Vidyo’s platform,” said Ofer Shapiro, co-founder and CEO of Vidyo.  “Vidyo’s software-based architecture leverages off-the-shelf hardware and allows mobile devices, desktops and traditional room systems to interoperate together and with legacy-based systems. We look forward to Fuze Box’s broad success in the coming months.”

Vidyo was demonstrated as the first TV quality multipoint conference on a smart phone at CES 2010. Since then, the Vidyo platform has expanded to support the iPad, iPhone 4, iPod, Samsung Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S smartphone, the Google Nexus S, and multiple other Android phones and tablets. The company’s platform was also licensed last year for the first commercially available multipoint video conferencing service available on any telecom carrier network.

The Vidyo Difference

Vidyo was the first company to develop a new architecture based on H.264 SVC for video conferencing. The VidyoRouter™ architecture offers industry- leading error resiliency and the lowest latency by eliminating the MCU, and is the first video multipoint solution that can deliver rate matching and continuous presence capabilities without an additional video encode and decode. This unique capability allows for less than half of the end-to-end latency of MCU-based solutions. Vidyo’s technology is a key advancement in making natural, high-quality video communication universally available over the Internet, 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi networks.

With Vidyo, businesses no longer need to be concerned about the equipment, management, logistics and costs of video conferencing. The affordable Vidyo platform delivers up to 1440p at 60 fps and supports multiple resolutions and frame rates for every endpoint. This unique ability allows disparate people to participate in video meetings from many locations, regardless of where they are, on desktops, laptops, room systems, tablets and smart phones.

Additional Vidyo technology partners include HP, Google, Hitachi, Teliris and others.
