Vidyo Leads Telehealth Movement Expanding Across the U.S.

Over 250 Healthcare Systems, Representing more than 2,500 Hospitals, Thread Vidyo Throughout Telemedicine Workflows and Across the Care Continuum

HACKENSACK, N.J.-Leading embedded video collaboration platform provider Vidyo today announced the addition of more than 50 major healthcare systems to its rapidly growing customer base during its past fiscal year. As providers increasingly look for better alternatives to generic video collaboration technology silos, they choose Vidyo, the proven leader in clinician-friendly, embedded telehealth solutions within their existing clinical workflow investments, including the Electronic Health Records system.

“Ensuring our providers can efficiently deliver the highest quality care to our patients across the MUSC telemedicine ecosystem is of the utmost importance to our team”

“Clinicians adopt telehealth technology when it becomes transparent to both care providers and patients within the context of that patient encounter,” said Vidyo CEO Eran Westman. “Being able to initiate a consultation via the click of a button and remain within the same application and user experience, instead of launching a separate client that loses context and breaks workflow, is key to eliminating barriers to adoption.”

Vidyo’s ecosystem of industry leading partners continues to grow and drive innovation in the market. Last month, American Well, a leading provider of telehealth technology and services, and consumer electronics giant Samsung, announced an embedded telehealth capability, powered by Vidyo APIs. The “Ask an Expert” video collaboration feature within the S Health application, which is preloaded on the new Samsung Galaxy S8, is making care more accessible than ever for Samsung’s millions of mobile consumers.

Most recently, Vidyo announced a partnership with Zillion® Health, a cutting-edge patient engagement platform, extending the portfolio of solutions enabled by Vidyo APIs into the population health management and patient engagement space. Additionally, 3 of the 4 largest EHR vendors, according to Beckers1, support deeply integrated Vidyo-enabled telehealth workflows. Health systems in the U.S. eager to improve access to care and reduce the cost of readmission will be able to conduct high quality and supremely simple telehealth consults directly from within the patient record, maintaining context and familiar workflow.

“Ensuring our providers can efficiently deliver the highest quality care to our patients across the MUSC telemedicine ecosystem is of the utmost importance to our team,” said Dr. James T. McElligott, Medical Director for Telehealth at MUSC. “Vidyo allows for our providers to access care from a wide variety of locations, and the level of integration with our Epic system on mobile and desktop applications is necessary to make workflows seamless across the continuum of care.”

Through its extensive experience in helping more than 250 health systems, and 64% of the largest hospitals by state2, deploy telehealth programs across the care continuum, Vidyo knows that great technology is critically important, but also not enough to stand up sustainable and scalable telehealth programs. A managed clinical transformation process is required to make telehealth a standard of care. That’s why Vidyo offers a suite of deployment and consultative services by an experienced telehealth industry veteran from the clinical services team.

“Telehealth programs are frequently stood up by a department within a health system without any knowledge or view of what others are doing in the same system,” said Wendy Deibert, Vidyo VP of Clinical Design Services. “There is tremendous opportunity to drive greater efficiency and a lower cost of care through a ‘centers of telehealth’ approach, but that requires a holistic view of telehealth across the organization and an analysis of existing assets in context of people, processes and technology. Vidyo has developed a proven process for generating repeatable success for our telehealth customers.”

In collaboration with partners Cerner and Zillion, Vidyo will be demonstrating high quality, secure and user-friendly telehealth solutions across the continuum of care at ATA Telehealth2.0 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, booth #933, April 23-25, 2017.
