Version 21.1.0

Product Bulletin No. 1314

What's new in this release?

  • New webinar feature
  • The VidyoConnect desktop app now allows you to create webinars, invite users to your webinars, assign the roles of Presenter, Listener, or Moderator to the users, and configure which functions are available to the users in those roles.
  • To create a new webinar, click the Meetings tab in the left panel and then click the + sign. You can then enter a name for your webinar, select your room, and choose whether you want Presenter, Listener, and/or Moderator user roles in your webinar.
  • For each user role, you can configure the default state of various functions, including whether users' cameras and mics are muted and can be unmuted, whether the cameras and mics are disabled and cannot be enabled, and whether users in the different roles can share content, view the participants list, and chat. For the Moderator role, you can also set a moderator PIN.
  • The VidyoConnect desktop app conveniently provides different links to the webinar for each user role. You simply need to copy the appropriate link and share it or send it in a calendar invite to the users in each role.
  • This feature requires VidyoPortal version 21.2.0 or later.
  • Conference duration timer
  • The new conference duration timer that appears in the upper-right corner of the VidyoConnect desktop app while you are in a call lets you know how long you’ve been in the conference.
  • This timer is disabled by default, but you can enable it from the VidyoConnect Settings screen.
  • When the conference ends, a message appears indicating your total participation time. If you recorded the conference, the message also conveniently provides a link to the recording.
  • Ability to select from the four most recently used portals
  • To log in to your VidyoConnect desktop app, you have to indicate which portal you'd like to sign in to. Sometimes, however, it can be difficult to remember the URLs of the portals. With this version of the app, you can simply tap on the portal field to see a drop-down menu of the four portals you used most recently.
  • Auto-provisioning of providers via Epic CAL
  • Using Vidyo’s Epic Context-Aware Linking (CAL) integration, providers can now be automatically provisioned into their Tenant.
  • Providers can now also perform moderation actions in their Epic CAL conferences, including:
  • Inviting other users via links.
  • Muting participants.
  • Inviting other registered users to the conference.
  • Disconnecting participants.
  • Dialing out to SIP or H.323 devices.
  • Provisioned providers can be configured to be automatically logged out at the end of their conferences.
  • This feature requires VidyoPortal version 21.2.0 or later.
  • Spanish language Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
  • When the VidyoConnect Desktop app is set to the Spanish language and a user clicks the link to the Terms of Service or Privacy Policy, that user now sees the Terms of Service or Privacy Policy in Spanish.
  • "Generate Diagnostic Report" renamed to "Generate Logs"
  • The VidyoConnect desktop app Settings > Help screen enables you to generate logs that you can then send to Vidyo Support. Instead of using the term "Generate Diagnostic Report" for this function, we now call it "Generate Logs".
