VidyoConnect for Mobile Version 20.3.0 (Android™): General Availability Release

What's new in this release?

  • New ringtone available for incoming calls
  • In this release, we've added a new ringtone for incoming calls.
  • From the Settings > Preferences screen, you can select the new Vintage ringtone or the classic VidyoConnect Default ringtone.
  • When you select a ringtone, it plays for two seconds so you can choose the sound you like best.
  • Ability to invite others to join your call
  • Registered users who launch a video call using the VidyoConnect mobile app can now invite other users to join the call.
  • The updated user interface enables you to easily invite users in multiple ways, such as by sharing the conference link, by calling other users via their SIP IP address or phone number (if dial out was set up on the gateway), or by copying and pasting the conference link.

VidyoConnect for Mobile Version 20.3.5 (iOS): General Availability Release

What's new in this release?

  • Mobile Device Management (MDM) support
  • This release introduces phase 1 support for the iOS MDM platform.
  • MDM is the term used for the administration and deployment of mobile devices by IT organizations. In healthcare, for example, IT organizations may distribute iOS devices to patients for home follow-up or to patients in facilities as bedside communication devices.
  • In phase 1, the VidyoConnect mobile app includes a pre-defined, locked configuration:
  • Pre-configured settings include the username, password, VidyoPortal™ address, and gateway domain—thereby enabling authentication and automatic login of users.
  • Other settings, such as auto-answering incoming calls, are also pre-configured and locked from the user.
  • Users are blocked from Settings > Preferences and from the ability to log out unless they enter an access code provided by their admin.
  • New ringtone available for incoming calls
  • In this release, we've added a new ringtone for incoming calls.

What's new in this release?

  • Support for TytoCare™ integration
  • TytoCare integration is now supported by the VidyoConnect mobile app for iOS as well as the VidyoConnect mobile app for Android.
  • TytoCare is a telehealth solution that simulates a comprehensive physical examination using a portable WiFi-enabled diagnostic device.
  • Both registered and guest VidyoConnect users at the Point of Care (POC) side now have the ability to pair their Android and iOS devices with the Tyto device.

VidyoConnect for Mobile Version 19.5.0 (Android™ and iOS): General Availability Release

Product Bulletin No. 1268

Version 19.5.0 of the VidyoConnect mobile app introduces the Voice+Content Only feature. This feature allows registered and guest users to join conferences as voice-only participants who can share and view content. You'll find this feature especially helpful when commuting, when experiencing a low battery on your device or when in a limited cell phone signal area.

What's new in this release?

  • VoiceContent Only feature (Android and iOS)
  • Settings include:
  • “Always active” – Tap to always apply Voice+Content Only.
  • “Active when battery saver mode is On” – Enable whenever your device is using battery saving mode. Note: iPads® have only two options available: "Always active" and "Active when battery is below 20%" since these devices do not have battery saving mode.
  • "Limit for cellular data” -  Enable when connecting through LTE or a cellular network (not Wi-Fi). Note: The "Limit for cellular data" option is not available on devices that do not have or support SIM cards. 
  • Registered and Guest Users – During a call, enable or disable by tapping the Voice+Content Only button in the toolbar.
  • Guest Users – Before a call, enable Voice+Content Only by tapping the toggle on the beauty screen.
  • Registered Users – Configure in Settings > Preferences.

VidyoConnect for Desktop and Mobile Version 18.3.0: General Availability Release

What's new in this release?

  • Far End Camera Control (Desktop and Mobile)
  • This innovative feature allows registered and guest participants in a call to remotely control a supported Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) camera connected to a far end VidyoConnect desktop or VidyoRoom endpoint.
  • FECC works with VidyoPortal version 17.1.0 or later and must be enabled under Device Settings by the camera owner prior to joining a VidyoConnect call.
  • FECC allows users, including those in healthcare and education settings, the ability to remotely move a PTZ camera to obtain better views of patients, educational materials, and other points of interest. 
  • Login banner (Desktop Only)
  • VidyoConnect for Desktop can now display a configurable banner to users as soon as they successfully log in to the VidyoConnect application.
  • The banner could display, for example, a welcome message, information about your company, or security information that users need to read and acknowledge.
  • End User License Agreement (EULA) (Desktop and Mobile)
  • After you install the VidyoConnect application, you can now read and accept Vidyo’s EULA before you first launch the application. 
  • You will not be prompted to accept the EULA again unless the application is re-installed or upgraded with a new EULA version.
  • Terms and Conditions (Desktop and Mobile)
  • In accordance with data privacy regulations, you will now be prompted to read and accept our updated User Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy the first time you log in to the VidyoConnect application. 
  • This applies to registered VidyoCloud™ customers including auto-login users, SAML-authenticated users, guest users on the VidyoCloud portal, and those using VidyoCloud portal endpoints such as VidyoRoom.
  • This does not apply to customers using older versions of VidyoConnect software or on-premises customers.

VidyoConnect for Mobile Version 18.1.0: General Availability Release

What's new in this release?

  • Localized user interface
  • We’ve localized the VidyoConnect user interface into these six additional languages:
  • French
  • German
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Simplified Chinese
  • Spanish
  • If your mobile device is set to one of these six languages, VidyoConnect automatically chooses that language for your VidyoConnect UI; otherwise, it defaults to English. 
  • Whenever you want to change the language of your VidyoConnect UI to one of these six languages, you can do so from your mobile device.
  • Outbound direct dialing
  • Need to make a business-critical video call while you’re at an airport, in your car, or simply running between offices? You can do just that with the VidyoConnect for Mobile outbound direct dialing feature. This new feature allows you to place direct calls from your VidyoConnect for Mobile app to your contacts on VidyoConnect for Desktop.
  • Resolved issues
  • In this release, we’ve continued to improve the reliability and usability of the VidyoConnect app by resolving a number of issues.
