What's new in this release?

  • Meet Now for Desktop
  • We’ve added our Meet Now feature to Desktop in this release.
  • The Meet Now button is added to the Calendar tab. Clicking on it will launch a one-time use ad-hoc room and provide the user the ability to invite others to the call.
  • Notification to moderators and owners when closed captioning is enabled
  • Moderators and owners of conferences can now be notified when closed captioning is turned on and off in a conference.
  • The notifications will occur in the following scenarios:
  • When it’s enabled for the first time in a conference.
  • When everyone in the conference has disabled it.
  • When it’s enabled for the first time after everyone in the conference has disabled it.
  • The moderator/owner will not be notified for consequent enablement if they have been notified once.
  • Notification for enabling.
  • Notification for disabling.
  • These notifications are off by default. They can be enabled in the settings under preferences.
  • Note

    The prerequisites for this feature are listed below:

    • VidyoPortal Version 24.1.0 or later.
    • VidyoRouter Version 24.1.0 or later.
    • VidyoGateway Version 24.1.0 or later.
  • Remote closed captioning for VidyoRooms
  • We’ve added closed captioning support for VidyoRooms (hardware and software edition).
  • As part of the feature offering, you can remotely turn closed captioning on and off for VidyoRooms that are configured for CC.
  • You need to be a conference owner or moderator to leverage this feature.
  • This feature is also supported in Epic CAL environments.
  • VidyoRooms that support closed captioning will have a CC icon on the video tile and in the participant drop-down menu in the participant panel.
  • A white icon means CC is turned off for the VidyoRoom.
  • A green icon means CC is currently turned on for the VidyoRoom.
  • If the CC icon is not present on the VidyoRoom tile, please ensure:
  • The remote-control service has been deployed.
  • The VidyoRoom has been configured correctly.
  • New Vidyo certificate
  • This version of VidyoConnect Desktop is signed with a new Vidyo certificate.
  • Your IT department will may have to whitelist this new certificate in order for auto-update to work on your organization managed devices.
  • This change does not affect devices that are not managed by organizations.
  • The details of the certificate can be found under the security settings of the installer. They are attached here for reference.

  • New Banuba SDK
  • We’ve integrated the latest Banuba SDK 1.17.3 into this version of Desktop.
  • It comes with updates for performance, efficiency, and stability.
