Version 23.1.0—July 2023

What's new in this release?

  • Breakout rooms
  • The new breakout rooms feature enables the call moderator to separate the call participants into smaller groups. This feature is especially useful in situations where there are privacy concerns but call participants still need to speak openly. For example:
  • In a medical environment, a doctor may want to talk to a patient in one breakout room and consult with other medical professionals in another room.
  • In a judicial environment, an attorney may want to discuss a case with a defendant in one breakout room and with judicial assistants in another room.
  • WebRTC users of breakout rooms can only join as non-moderating participants.
  • Participants:
  • Can be moved to breakout rooms only if they’re on this latest version of WebRTC.
  • Can request help from the moderator using the Request help button on the in-call toolbar.

  • To use the breakout room feature, you must have VidyoPortal version 23.1.0 as well as VidyoConnect for Desktop version 23.1.0 or later.
  • Participants on VidyoConnect for WebRTC versions older than 23.1.0 can join the main conference, but they cannot be moved to breakout rooms. The moderator is made aware of this fact so they can communicate accordingly.
  • This feature is not yet compatible with VidyoConnect Room or VidyoRoom.
